For me, Manny Pacquiao is probably one of the best boxers during the past five years or so. He is tough, resilent, fast, powerful, and crafty just to name a few of his attributes. If you watch him fight, he reminds me of a younger, lighter Muhammed Ali. The biggest difference is that he is not cocky like the old Muhammed Ali. He truly represents the Philippines as one of their best boxers and pound for pound.
Ask the top three Mexicans that he literally destroyed. First, there was Marco Antonio Barerra, the invincible one. Once Barerra was knocked down by Manny in the first round three times, I am sure at that instant, he said to himself, "what have I gotten myself into?" Then there was Eric Morales, another tough Mexican, but like Barerra, he had not met Mr. Pacman. And that last Pacquiao-Barerra fight devestated Morales. It seened in that fight when he was sitting on the canvas looking up at Manny after he was knocked down again, he probably said to himself, "No Mas". And finally, there was Juan Manuel. As far as I am concerned, he was tougher than either Barerra or Morales, but just not quite good enough to win the victory over Manny. He really gave Manny a tough time, but like I said, he was fighting a Pacman. (smile) Manny was no joke in those fights with those three. In fact, where do you think he got the name, "The Mexican Assassin". One lean and mean Phillippine boxer.
And now, he will fight Ricky Hatton out of England. I will admit Ricky is tough and Manny knows that he will have to fight this brawler a different way. Because, I am sure that Ricky is going to try and throw his weight around and brawl with Manny. Manny is too smart for that. Anyway, I think that Manny will win and he just might destroy Ricky the same way he did the Mexican Assassin group. Time will tell and I will definitely be watching the fight on May 2. Any comments on this upcoming fight ? See you there!!
